Please read and understand the rules before playing Azoptaos.
1. Username content. Forum username must match your game username. If your usernames do not match, contact a staff member and let them know what your game name is. If you do not contact a staff member before a staff member contacts you about mismatching usernames, you will receive a 40% warning.
1a. If your usernames cannot match due to spaces, symbols, or the game does not allow enough characters, this is okay! Just tell a staff member. You will not get in trouble.
1b. Please keep usernames and character names appropriate. While we do allow swearing in chat, not everyone is completely comfortable with it. To keep everyone in mind, keep usernames and character names clean.
2. You are allowed ONE account. If you are found to have multiple forum accounts and/or multiple game accounts, you WILL be contacted.
2a. If family members or friends have signed up for the forums/game on your IP address, please contact a staff member with their username and affiliation to you.
2b. Regarding username changes: Wanting a new username is NOT an excuse for making a new account. If you wish to have your username changed, message the server host (Sparkoo ) on the forum with your current username and what you want it changed to. You are allowed only one username change.
2c. “I forgot my password!” This is not an excuse to make a new account. If you forgot your in-game password, message Sparkoo , the server host. Forgot your forum password?
3. DO NOT give out the download link. If you want a friend to join, send them the forum link and have them make an account.
4. You must be the age of 13 years or older to join the forums and play Azoptaos. However, beyond physical age, we believe you should be judged on your mental age. So if you cannot handle swearing, some blood and horror elements, or the killing of cute little animals, please refrain from joining or playing the game.
5. Swearing IS allowed on the forums. However, please do not direct it at anyone else. This violates our rule of respect.
5a. Although swearing is alright, derogatory terms directed at a certain race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, etc. are not allowed. You may think it’s funny, but others may find it EXTREMELY offensive.
Confused about what terms we're talking about? The spoiler below contains words not allowed on Azoptaos. We don't even want to say them, but we realize you may need clarification. The following and any variations of the following are not allowed.
5b. Some clarification. This rule can be a bit confusing, so please read this. We're aware that some close friends insult/swear at each other as a sign of affection. However, do not do this on the forum. This is a public forum where anyone can see the messages. We don't need new members joining and having the first thread they see having someone call their friend a bitch or another insult.
6. Be respectful to your fellow players. Don’t insult them, swear at them, or do anything they tell you not to. We’re trying to establish a mature playerbase. If you can’t figure out how to act your age, please do not join.
6a. Homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, etc. will not be tolerated. All users deserve respect, regardless of their orientations, identities, race, ethnicity, etc.
6b. Respect the staff. They take time out of their day to ensure Azoptaos and the forums are a welcoming and safe community for everyone. If a mod asks you to do something, just do it. Do not harass admins for items or prey. Treat staff as your fellow players and be kind and respectful.
7. DO NOT BEG. Period. Begging includes constantly asking for help taming, help finding prey, asking for items, or asking for anything from another user that has not been offered to you. You are allowed to ask others for help once. If they say no, you must leave them alone. Continuing to bother them counts as begging.
Also, do not post threads begging for items. Either offer a trade or find them yourself.
8. NO PITY PARTIES. We want Azoptaos to be an enjoyable gaming experience. This is nearly impossible with players sitting around and complaining. We have zero tolerance for pity parties.
9. No spamming. It’s annoying, useless, and prevents players from seeing actual conversations. Spamming includes repeating the same message over and over, writing out random letters/numbers, constantly posting the same thread/on the same thread (including double posting) and constantly speaking in all caps. Spamming also includes answering a question that someone has already posted the answer to. If you have more information to contribute, go ahead, but do not post the same answer as the person before you.
9a. If you want to post a "spazztic" image, place it in a spoiler and add a warning. If you don't know what a spazztic image is, it's basically an image that flashes a lot/makes very, very sudden movements. This can be very damaging to some users' eyes. If you're not sure if an image of yours is spazztic or not, either place it in a spoiler or PM a staff member and ask.
9b. Along with spazztic images, please place sexual content/gore/things that may be triggering in spoilers with warnings. Remember, content must stay PG-13.
9c. Regarding double posting. This is usually considered spam, however, there are instances where it's understandable. Examples include posting to say you've updated your original post (for threads such as trades, screenshots, art, etc). Some boards have instructional threads posted by an admin that states the basic purpose of the board and may state whether or not double posting is allowed and under what circumstances. If you're still not sure whether or not you can double post/bump, just post on the Help Board!
10. Art theft. Don't do it. Individuals spend hours perfecting their art style and anatomy, and stealing a picture because "it looked pretty" is simply rude, lazy, and a serious offense. Not to mention, against the law. Always make sure you have permission from the original creator of the art piece to use it. If you do not have their direct permission, you may not use the picture.
11. Only English is to be spoken on the forums. Please speak it to the best of your ability.
12. Try to keep your threads in the right board. If you are unsure of what board to post in, post on the Help Board for assistance.
12a. Keep posts relevant to the thread's topic. While we understand some posts may stray a bit from the topic, do not "hi-jack" threads and post something completely unrelated. You're always welcome to create your own thread on the correct board if you have something off-topic to say.
13. Keep content PG-13. In roleplays especially, keep your sexual scenes minimal and non-descriptive. If you want to go further into detail, take it to PM.
While we are lenient on sexual content, keep discussions about genitalia to a minimum. Not everybody is comfortable with it, so please do not be descriptive. Discussions of serious topics such as rape, suicide, self-harm, etc., joking or not, are not tolerated under any circumstances.
14. Minimodding is not allowed. If someone is breaking the rules, report them immediately. You can report forum posts by scrolling to the top of the post, finding the small button with a gear on it, clicking it and selecting "Report Post." To report a player, please use the Report Someone Board.
15. If a board has a thread titled “Basic Guidelines & Reminders for This Board,” be sure to read it over!
